A glossary of the terms used throughout the platform.

Short definitions of the terms you will meet in the back office. Each links to the page that explains it in detail.

Workspace

Team : The shared space for the people you work with. Everything belongs to a team. See Teams.

Member and role : A member is a person with access to a team. Their role is Owner, Admin, Member or Read only and decides what they may do. See Members and roles.

Project : One catalogue inside a team. It has a name, a slug (the short lowercase name used in its web addresses) and a base currency that prices are compared in. See Projects.

Catalogue

Brand : The maker of a product. See Brands.

Merchant : A shop that sells your products. A merchant can be linked to a scrape profile that describes how its pages are read. See Merchants.

Product : The item you compare, for example a specific pair of headphones. See Products.

Offer : A product sold by a merchant. There is one offer per merchant and product. An offer has a web address (URL), a price stored in cents and can be active or gone. A gone offer is one that is no longer sold at the merchant; it stays paused and keeps its history. See Offers.

Price history : Every change to an offer's price, stock or active state is recorded with its source: webhook (a scrape result), reconcile (a check against Scrape Admin), import, manual (an edit by a person) or replay (a webhook delivery processed again). If you correct a wrongly recorded price, the original value is kept.

Attributes (custom fields) : Extra typed fields you define for products, brands, merchants or offers. See Custom attributes.

Scraping

Scrape Admin : The external service that reads prices from merchant pages and posts results back. See Connect Scrape Admin.

Scrape profile : A description of how to read a merchant's pages (where the price and stock are). See Scrape profiles.

Growing the catalogue

Import list : A list of product URLs you paste or upload as a CSV. Each URL is matched to a merchant and checked before you accept it as an offer. See Imports.

Repair queue : A worklist of catalogue problems: Wrong URL / 404, Products without brand, Brands without products and Gone. See Repair queues.

Publishing

Website and token : A comparison website that reads a project through the public API. Each website has its own token, shown once when created or rotated. See Websites.

Clicks : Each time a visitor follows an offer link from a website to the merchant, a click is recorded. See Analytics and Click tracking.
